Edo NACDPMN Hails National President Over Support for Livestock Development

The Edo State Chapter of the National Association of Cattle Dealers, Processors and Marketers of Nigeria (NACDPMN) has expressed profound appreciation to its National President for honoring the association's invitation to Edo State during the three-day working visit of the Honourable Minister of Livestock Development.

The association stated that the National President's presence during the commissioning of the modern abattoir project and veterinary hospital served as a major source of encouragement to members and further demonstrated his commitment to the growth and advancement of Nigeria's livestock sector.

Speaking on behalf of members of the association in Edo State, the State Chairman, Comrade Yusuf Ibrahim Imhokha, described the visit as historic and impactful, noting that it had strengthened ongoing efforts aimed at modernizing and transforming the livestock value chain in the country.

According to him, the successful commissioning of the projects marks a significant milestone in improving meat processing standards, enhancing animal healthcare services, creating employment opportunities, and promoting sustainable livestock practices in Edo State and across Nigeria.

The chapter further commended the National President for his dedication, visionary leadership, and consistent support toward the development of the association and the livestock industry nationwide.

"We deeply appreciate your unwavering support and commitment to the progress of our sector. Your presence during this landmark occasion has inspired our members and reinforced our collective determination to build a modern, sustainable, and prosperous livestock industry," the association stated.

The Edo State Chapter, on behalf of all its members, reiterated its gratitude and pledged continued collaboration with the national leadership in driving policies and initiatives capable of repositioning Nigeria's livestock industry for greater economic growth, food security, and national development.

The association further emphasized that stronger partnerships among stakeholders remain crucial to unlocking the vast potential within the livestock sector and ensuring sustainable development for future generations.

Ologbo Traditional Leadership: Chief Iyase Rejects Purported Installation of Olare-Aja

By Elvis Omoregie  The Okao Nore-Guae overseeing Ologbo, Ehor and Okhuoromi communities in Edo State, Chief Emma Iyase, has warned against what he described as efforts to establish a parallel traditional authority in Ologbo, rejecting the reported installation of Pa Johnson Obubu Itoto as the Olare-Aja of the community. Speaking on the development, Chief Iyase said the installation, reportedly carried out on May 30, 2026, was unknown to Benin customs and traditions and constituted a violation of the recognized traditional authority structure of the Benin Kingdom.
