The Association for Formidable Educational Development (AFED), Edo State Chapter, has re-elected its incumbent Controller, Mr. Oladele Ogundele, unopposed during the association’s election held on Thursday in Benin City.

The exercise, supervised by the chairman of the electoral committee, Pastor Victor Akhere Ehimen, also produced a new executive team expected to steer the affairs of the association for another tenure.

Other officials elected include Dr. Peace Chukwurah as Deputy Controller, Pastor Nosa Asemota as Secretary, Bishop Dr. Okhimamhe Emmanuel as Assistant Secretary, and E-Abraham Blessing Obehi as Treasurer.

Also elected were Enakunu Nonyelum Oghenekevwe as Financial Secretary, Chaplain Umoh E. Edem as ICT Officer, Esther Omonjiade as Welfare Officer, and Esther Ekhurutomwen as Internal Auditor.

Speaking shortly after the election, Ogundele expressed gratitude to members of the association for the confidence reposed in him, describing his re-election as a collective victory for “unity, progress, continuity, and the shared vision of a stronger and more impactful AFED Edo State.”

He pledged to provide leadership anchored on transparency, accountability, and integrity, while promising to strengthen AFED’s grassroots presence across the 18 local government areas of Edo State.

According to him, the new administration will prioritise members’ welfare and cooperative development, improve educational programmes and examination coordination, promote professionalism among members, and modernise the association’s operations through digital innovation.

Ogundele further assured members that the administration would remain open, accessible, and responsive, stressing that every chapter and stakeholder of the association would be actively carried along in its programmes and policies.

“Every member matters. Every chapter matters. Every voice matters,” he stated, while calling on members and stakeholders to support the new executive in advancing the objectives of the association.

He emphasised the need for unity and collaboration among members, noting that the association must remain focused on strengthening internal bonds and driving educational development initiatives across Edo State and beyond.
