Former Accord Governorship Candidate Enabulele Joins Edo South Senate Race
By Elvis Omoregie, Benin
Dr. Bright Enabulele, former governorship candidate of the Accord Party in the 2024 Edo State election, has formally entered the race for the Edo South Senatorial District under the platform of the National Democratic Coalition (NDC) Party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Enabulele, widely regarded as a technology entrepreneur and digital development consultant, is positioning his senatorial ambition around innovation-driven governance, economic transformation and technology-enabled public services.
Known for his involvement in technology and digital infrastructure projects across parts of Africa and the Caribbean, Enabulele has built a reputation around deploying technology solutions aimed at addressing governance and socio-economic challenges.
His interventions, according to associates and stakeholders in the digital ecosystem, have focused on areas such as security management, economic development, digital mapping, communication systems, election polling infrastructure and youth empowerment.
Supporters of the Edo South aspirant argue that his experience in technology and digital consulting could provide practical solutions to some of Nigeria’s long-standing development challenges, particularly in areas of unemployment, poverty reduction and public sector efficiency.
Political observers note that Enabulele’s entrance into the Edo South senatorial contest adds a fresh dimension to the race, especially as conversations around digital economy, innovation and technology-driven governance continue to gain prominence in Nigeria’s political space.
His campaign is expected to emphasise the use of technology as a tool for economic growth, institutional reforms and citizen engagement, with close associates saying he intends to leverage legislative platforms to promote policies that support digital infrastructure, innovation hubs, youth entrepreneurship and improved public service delivery.
Enabulele had contested the 2024 Edo State governorship election under the Accord Party, where he campaigned on themes of economic reforms, technology adoption and inclusive governance.
With the 2027 elections gradually taking shape, political stakeholders in Edo South are expected to closely watch how his technology-oriented message resonates with voters across the district.
