Edo Launches ‘Edo To The World’ to Drive Creative Economy, Discover New Talents

By Elvis Omoregie, Benin

The entertainment and creative industry in Edo State is set for a major boost following the official launch of “Edo To The World,” a large-scale music talent discovery and cultural showcase designed to identify and promote emerging talents from the state to national and international audiences.

The initiative, spearheaded by media and events strategist Markus Mckane Okoebor, is being organised by Brotherly Love Entertainment Ltd in collaboration with the Edo State Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy.

Industry stakeholders have described the project as a strategic platform capable of strengthening Edo State’s growing creative economy while creating new opportunities for young people across the state.

Organisers said the initiative is designed beyond entertainment, positioning it as a youth empowerment and cultural promotion programme aimed at harnessing creativity, discovering raw talents, and providing structured opportunities for aspiring entertainers.

A key feature of the project is its statewide reach, with activities planned across the 18 local government areas and the three senatorial districts of Edo South, Edo North, and Edo Central to ensure inclusiveness and grassroots participation.

Speaking on the vision behind the initiative, Markus Mckane said Edo State has consistently produced talented individuals whose potentials require greater visibility, support, and development.

Mckane, known for his contributions to media, strategic communication, branding, and event management, has handled projects for organisations including 7UP Bottling Company, Ambrose Alli University, and the University of Benin Teaching Hospital through Media Plus Communication, Mark & Me Corporate (Nig.) Ltd., and Brotherly Love Entertainment Ltd.

Observers within the entertainment industry believe the initiative could further position Edo State as a destination for entertainment, talent development, and cultural tourism in Nigeria.

The event is expected to feature notable entertainers and personalities such as I Go Dye, Klint Da Drunk, Prof. Linkin, Gandoki, Edo Pikin, MC Awilo, and Jaytunes, among others.

The grand finale of “Edo To The World” is scheduled to hold on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Sir Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, Airport Road, Benin City.
