The All Progressives Congress (APC), Edo State Chapter, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful in the state and across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a goodwill message signed by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Barr. Peter Uwadiae-Igbinigie, the APC described Eid-el-Fitr as a sacred festival that signifies the conclusion of a period dedicated to spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and devotion to Allah.
The party noted that beyond the celebrations, Eid-el-Fitr presents an opportunity for Nigerians to renew their commitment to unity, peace, and compassion—values it said are essential for national development and social harmony.
According to the statement, the festival serves as a reminder of the importance of strengthening family ties, promoting peaceful coexistence, and extending support to the less privileged in society.
“It is a moment to embrace tolerance, understanding, and the virtues of generosity and empathy that underpin our shared humanity,” the statement said.
Reaffirming its commitment to the people of Edo State, the APC stressed its resolve to pursue inclusive governance, equitable development, and policies aimed at improving the living standards of citizens.
The party emphasized that sustainable progress in the state can only be achieved through collective effort and a shared sense of responsibility among residents, regardless of religious or ethnic differences.
“As we celebrate, we call on all Edo citizens to unite in the spirit of togetherness and work collaboratively towards building a peaceful, prosperous, and thriving state,” the statement added.
The APC further urged residents to reflect on the lessons of Ramadan and allow the values of integrity, kindness, and sacrifice to guide their actions beyond the festive period.
It also offered prayers for continued peace, good health, and prosperity, expressing hope that the blessings of the season would inspire a renewed commitment to the development of Edo State and Nigeria at large.
