Edo CRPP Chairman Commiserates NUJ Over Journalist's Death

By Elvis Omoregie

The Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP) has commiserated with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council over the death of Mr. Austin Adibe Emenyonu, the state correspondent of ThisDay Newspaper, which sad event
occurred on Friday 17 October, 2025.

In a statement personally signed by Dr. Samson Isibor chairman CPPR, said "We pray that Mr. Adibe's soul rest in perfect peace and may God give the union and the family of Adibe the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss".

According to the statement, Mr Adibe was a versatile journalist, a fearless reporter, very coordinated, humble and easy going. The CRPP enjoys unparalleled relationship with him.

He was among the fearless pen merchants, who made us strong in Edo State politics and Nigeria in general.

"his untimely death in the fourth estate of the realm in Edo State council is one too many in recent years. Our prayer is that, the Almighty God help us put a stop to
this unexpected tragedy.

"We appeal to Governor Okpebholo, to come to the aid of the state journalists by enlisting all journalists working in Edo State into the state health insurance scheme automatically.
This is because they are working Dr Isibor under a strenuous condition due to high cost of living in the state.

"When sickness comes, it is a herculean task coupled with economic downtown in Edo
State for citizens to purchase drugs and food items. The governor should bring down the high cost of living in the state.

"Our second appeal is that the state government should place the entire journalists registered with NUJ on allowances to augment their meager salaries.

"Some years ago, things were still manageable then, unlike now, everything has gone up astronomically. There is no purchasing power any longer. Maybe the Adibe as a journalist may not have died suddenly.

"Well, nobody can question the Almighty God.

"We all have a date with our unquestionable God our creator.
We thank God for his life. Rest in the bosom of God our creator. Please take heart fellow colleague, we are part of you.
Kualane".
