End Of Year Party: Efosa Uwangue Shines, bags ITV double awards

The Head of Reportorial of Independent Television and Radio, Mr. Efosa Uwangue has won the highest marketer and best reporter of the news department of the station.

This was announced during the stations 2024 end of year party held in Benin. 

The MD Elvis Obaseki during the presentation, said the event is an avenue to reward hardworking and dedicated staff and champion a new cause for another year.

The MD advised staff to cultivate the drive to contribute to the development of the station, stressing that the management would continue to encourage staff who had distinguished themselves through hard work and dedication to work.

Receiving the award, the head of reporter ITV &Radio  said it will spur him to do more for the station as he sees it as a call to more efforts to take the station to an enviable height.

He thanked the owner  of the station, Chief Dr Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion for providing the platform  and the management of the station led by the MD, Engineer. Elvis Obaseki, for giving him the opportunity to contribute to the society through ITV/Radio.

Other categories of award include overall best staff, Accounting, Presentation, Engineering and utility best staff among others were honoured. 

The event had the majority of staff of the station in attendance and also witnessed social activities to climax it.

Stop proposed Caretaker Committee inauguration, Edo assembly tells NLC president

By  Elvis Omoregie, Benin  Edo State House of Assembly yesterday passed a resolution calling on the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Joe Ajaero, to shelve the proposed leadership change of the present NLC Exco in Edo State.  The resolution which a motion raised by the Majority leader, Hon. Jonathan Ibhamawu following reports of a planned inauguration of a caretaker committee in the state. Presenting the motion Hon. Ologbo Traditional Leadership: Chief Iyase Rejects Purported Installation of Olare-Aja

By Elvis Omoregie  The Okao Nore-Guae overseeing Ologbo, Ehor and Okhuoromi communities in Edo State, Chief Emma Iyase, has warned against what he described as efforts to establish a parallel traditional authority in Ologbo, rejecting the reported installation of Pa Johnson Obubu Itoto as the Olare-Aja of the community. Speaking on the development, Chief Iyase said the installation, reportedly carried out on May 30, 2026, was unknown to Benin customs and traditions and constituted a violation of the recognized traditional authority structure of the Benin Kingdom.
