I lectured for 15 years at Uniben, before opting for politics- Hon. Edosa

The Hon. Member Representing Oredo West Constituency, in the Edo State House of Assembly EDHA Hon. Edosa Richard Osaro, yesterday said he was a lecturer at the University of Benin, Uniben for over 15 years training medical doctors before opting for politics.

He made the disclosure while speaking with newsmen in his office in Benin City the state capital, on topical issues around the country, constituency and his labour party LP.

The Ile-Ife Obafemi university medical doctor graduate said he has been using his area of medical experience to help his Constituent by rendering them free healthcare services and many more.

The law maker who said he has done several free surgical intervention of surgeries for different members of his constituency ranging from herniorrhaphy Cesarean section (CS), hepatectomy and free eye surgeries freely for both members of his party's and none members because he now sees himself as father to all.

He said as a Law Maker, my duty is to produce bills, sponsor bills and do oversight functions that mandate him to ensure money appropriated for certain projects in his constituency are well utilized and that beyond the legislative purpose, why he was elected, he also owes it as duty to his people to feel his general impact as a legislator in the Edo state House of Assembly.

According to him, In terms of helping his constituents, individually and collectively, he has done a lot which anyone can go and verify. "Recently I supported Youths in my constituency over 40 of them to register for Jamb just to support their educational dreams to enter into university to further their education.

"I have also given empowerment to members of my constituency on poultry farm which I have given to over 30 persons. I have also given Web designs training for up to 40 persons in my constituency and their certificate will be issued by (NATIP) sometime first week or second of March, they have finished their studies, they are preparing for their exams and those that passed the exams will be issued a certificate by (NATIP). This is to empower them on Web Designs, and with that certificate, they can work anywhere in the world".

"I have done several free surgical intervention of surgeries for different members of my constituency, surgeries ranging from Herniorrhaphy, Cesarean section (CS), Hepatectomy and free eye surgeries we have done all that freely. I'm a Medical Doctor, I'm a graduate of Obafemi university (Ile-Ife), I was a lecturer in Uniben for 15 years where I was training medical doctors I only resigned last year because of politics".

"For those who use Android phones for their business, I have supplied and given over 15 to 20 Android phones to people of my constituency that use Android phones for businesses so we are still doing more and also planning for micro finance and more", he said.

Speaking on the outcome of the Labour Party primary in Edo State that saw the emergence of the former President of the (NBA), Barr. Olumide Akpata, Hon. Edosa described the primaries as free and fair.

He said being a leader in the party in the state, the primary election was a huge success and appreciated the organic crowd that came out to participate in the exercise and commended the 9 contestants that purchased the party form and finally contested the primaries.

He used the medium to sue for peace amongst party members and all Obidients supporters across the 18 local government areas of Edo state to remain calm and united as one family ahead of the governorship election billed for September 2024.

Hon. Edosa Richard Osaro, also used the opportunity to appeal to 
the Federal government of Nigeria as a matter of urgent importance to address the rising cost of living in the country and advise them the way forward.
