EDHA Member representing Akoko-Edo Constituency 1 Hon. Yekini Idaiye welcomes Dr Ighodalo to LGA

Ahead of the PDP primary election in Edo State, Dr Asue Ighodalo has been endorsed by the Peoples Democrat Party (PDP) Stakeholders in Akoko-Edo Local
Government Area of Edo state.

Dr Asue Ighodalo who was received by a large crowd of supporters and the LGA Chairman, Prince Kayode Ogunubi at the PDP LGA Secretariat opposite Edo State Inland Revenue office, Ugbogbo before meeting with PDP Elders and Leaders led by Chief Olu Fashanu.

Amongst the leaders who received Dr Asue Ighodalo are Barr Tajudeen Alade, the Executive Chairman of Akoko-Edo Local Government Council, Hon Chief Shegun Saiki, the Senatorial Chairman of PDP,  Hon Kabiru Adjoto, Former Speaker  Edo State House of Assembly, Hon Yekini Idaiye, EDHA Member representing Akoko-Edo Constituency, Amb Dele Idaomi, former DG Min. of Agriculture, Hon Momoh Ojo Andrew, former LGA Chairman of the Party, Hon Monday Sule, former Chairman, Edo State Waste Management Board, Hon Joseph Adeleye, Former SLG, Mr Segun Oga, a retired Custom Chief and host of others. 

The motion of endorsement proposed by Mr Ademola Shaibu and seconded by Hon Mrs P O Balogun was  unanimously endorsed
affirmed

In a statement released by Hon Solomon Taiwo, the PDP Spokesman in the Local Government.The statement read in party's" the PDP family in Akoko-Edo has taken a definite position to endorse and stand by Dr Asue Igodalo till his inauguration as Executive Governor of Edo State". Dr Asue Ighodalo is a man of tremendous capacity and experience who will take Edo State to a higher level of development" he added.

Stop proposed Caretaker Committee inauguration, Edo assembly tells NLC president

By  Elvis Omoregie, Benin  Edo State House of Assembly yesterday passed a resolution calling on the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Joe Ajaero, to shelve the proposed leadership change of the present NLC Exco in Edo State.  The resolution which a motion raised by the Majority leader, Hon. Jonathan Ibhamawu following reports of a planned inauguration of a caretaker committee in the state. Presenting the motion Hon. Ologbo Traditional Leadership: Chief Iyase Rejects Purported Installation of Olare-Aja

By Elvis Omoregie  The Okao Nore-Guae overseeing Ologbo, Ehor and Okhuoromi communities in Edo State, Chief Emma Iyase, has warned against what he described as efforts to establish a parallel traditional authority in Ologbo, rejecting the reported installation of Pa Johnson Obubu Itoto as the Olare-Aja of the community. Speaking on the development, Chief Iyase said the installation, reportedly carried out on May 30, 2026, was unknown to Benin customs and traditions and constituted a violation of the recognized traditional authority structure of the Benin Kingdom. According to him, Ologbo remains an integral part of the Benin traditional institution, and matters concerning traditional leadership, chieftaincy titles and community governance must align with the customs, laws and established practices of the kingdom. “Any installation conducted outside the recognised traditional structures and procedures cannot enjoy legitimacy within the community,” he stated.
