Ugiagbe Reaffirms Loyalty to APC Structure, Calls for Unity in Orhionmwon

By Elvis Omoregie, Benin

Supporters of Hon. Deacon Newman Ugiagbe have reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the existing leadership structure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State, dismissing insinuations that his recent entry into the party was intended to reshape or challenge the current political order.

The clarification followed public reactions to an article titled "Deacon Newman Ugiagbe, Where Are You?", which sparked discussions within political circles in the local government. His supporters described the publication as a reflection of the growing interest in Ugiagbe's political future but cautioned against narratives capable of creating disunity or unnecessary tension within the APC.

According to the statement, the APC in Orhionmwon continues to operate under the recognised leadership of Hon. Patrick Aisowieren, former Deputy Governor Dr. Pius Odubu and other senior party leaders across the 12 political wards, stressing that the established structure remains the legitimate platform for coordinating party affairs and driving its political agenda.

The group recalled that when Ugiagbe formally joined the APC in his Ukpato Ward, he made an unequivocal commitment to work with the existing party leadership and structure, adding that his position has remained consistent and unchanged.

It noted that Ugiagbe's overriding objective is to deploy his political experience, goodwill and network to strengthen the APC, consolidate its achievements and contribute meaningfully to the party's continued growth and electoral success in Orhionmwon and Edo State.

The supporters urged party members, stakeholders and supporters to refrain from comments, actions or publications capable of breeding mistrust, factionalism or avoidable conflict, insisting that the APC's strength lies in unity, discipline and collective commitment to its shared vision.

They further maintained that Ugiagbe harbours no intention of ridiculing, undermining or embarrassing any leader within the party, emphasising that his political philosophy is anchored on party supremacy, respect for constituted authority and constructive collaboration with all stakeholders.

The statement also reaffirmed that Ugiagbe holds Hon. Patrick Aisowieren, Dr. Pius Odubu and other APC leaders in high regard, while calling on party faithful across Orhionmwon to remain united behind Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo as his administration continues to implement the SHINE Agenda for the development of Edo State.

The supporters concluded that Ugiagbe's primary focus remains the progress, stability and electoral success of the APC in Orhionmwon, stressing that mutual respect, loyalty to party structures and a shared commitment to the party's ideals remain indispensable to sustaining its unity and political dominance.
