Ugiagbe Reaffirms Loyalty to APC Leadership, Seeks Unity in Orhionmwon

By Elvis Omoregie, Benin

Hon. Deacon Newman Ugiagbe has reaffirmed his loyalty to the existing leadership structure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State, dismissing suggestions that his recent entry into the party was aimed at altering the current political order.

The clarification was contained in a statement issued by his media aide, Roy Osariemen, following public reactions to an article titled "Deacon Newman Ugiagbe, Where Are You?", which generated discussions within political circles in the local government.

According to the statement, while the publication reflects growing public interest in Ugiagbe's political future, it warned against narratives capable of creating division, mistrust or unnecessary tension within the APC.

Osariemen maintained that the APC in Orhionmwon remains under the recognised leadership of Hon. Patrick Aisowieren, former Deputy Governor Dr. Pius Odubu and other senior party leaders across the 12 political wards, stressing that the existing structure remains the legitimate platform for coordinating party affairs.

He recalled that when Ugiagbe formally joined the APC in Ukpato Ward, he publicly pledged to work with the established leadership and party structure, adding that his position has remained consistent and unwavering.

The statement noted that Ugiagbe's objective is to deploy his political experience, goodwill and network to strengthen the APC, consolidate its achievements and contribute to the party's continued growth and electoral success in Orhionmwon and Edo State.

It further stated that Ugiagbe has no intention of ridiculing, undermining or embarrassing any party leader, emphasising that his political philosophy is rooted in party supremacy, respect for constituted authority and constructive engagement with stakeholders.

Osariemen urged party members, stakeholders and supporters to avoid comments, actions or publications capable of breeding factionalism or avoidable conflict, insisting that the APC's strength lies in unity, discipline and a shared commitment to its ideals.

The statement reaffirmed that Ugiagbe holds Hon. Patrick Aisowieren, Dr. Pius Odubu and other APC leaders in high regard, while calling on party faithful across Orhionmwon to remain united behind Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo as his administration continues to implement the SHINE Agenda for the development of Edo State.

He concluded that Ugiagbe's overriding priority remains the unity, stability and electoral success of the APC in Orhionmwon, stressing that loyalty to party structures, mutual respect and collective commitment are essential to sustaining the party's growth and political dominance.
